A unit load AS/RS is a type of automatic storage & retrieval system (AS/RS) that handles large loads (500 to 1000 pounds and up) that are often placed on pallets or contained in pallet size plastic, wooden or industrial metal containers. Certain large loads, for example steel coils or paper rolls, may also be handled without a pallet base or container.[1]
