A man-on-board AS/RS is an automatic storage and retrieval machine that is similar to an order picker or turret truck and can sometimes operate as an industrial truck when outside an aisle. The man-on-board AS/RS is guided along a rail when operating in an aisle. It is used for in-aisle picking where an operator picks from shelves, bins, or drawers within the storage structure.[1]
