Carrying cost

Carrying cost, also known as "holding cost," is the cost associated with carrying inventory (having inventory on hand). Carrying cost is a combination of the capital spent to acquire the inventory and the cost to store it. Carrying cost is represented as the annual cost per average on-hand inventory unit.[1]
