An advanced shipment notification (ASN) is a document alerting a customer that a product has been shipped from the warehouse. It typically includes P.O. numbers, SKU numbers, lot numbers, quantity, pallet or container number, and/or carton number. Advanced shipment notification systems can be used in conjunction with bar-coded compliance labeling, allowing the customer to use bar code scanners or other ADC systems to receive the shipment into inventory.[1]
