AC

In electrical terms, AC stands for alternating current (as opposed to DC, which is direct current).[1] With alternating current, the positive and negative polarity alternate. The alternating period is called a cycle. In the U.S. and Canada , the average is 60 cycles per minute; overseas, 50 cycles per minute is common.[2]
